Variable speed control unit for the reed switch motors works with kits #1,2,3,4,5,8,9 and may work with the reed switch motor built from household materials. This kit allows to control and gradually change the speed of the motor from a complete stop to the maximum speed. It even increases the normal speed of the motor 10-25%.
This is a very simple kit, which consists of three parts: inner and outer stands and a magnet. Despite the simplicity of this kit it is highly recommended to use a multimeter to find the correct orientation and position of the magnet, as explained in its assembly instructions.
This kit also includes 2 reed switches: one heavy duty reed switch and a smaller size reed switch. Both of them work fine with all of the reed switch motors and may be used for different experiments. It is not recommended to exceed 6 Volts for the smaller reed switch.
QuikLock motors (kits #13-14) include the parts for variable speed control.
